Team HGR & Shellhammers Take Winner’s Circle for the 4th Annual Turkey Bowl
Lehigh Valley Grand Prix held it’s 4th Annual Turkey Bowl this past Sunday. The event was comprised of 9 teams. 5 teams competed in the Pro Class and 4 in the Amatuer Class. The 4hr Endurance Karting Race is one of the premiere events held at Lehigh Valley Grand Prix throughout the year. The race is a test of endurance, strategy and execution.
Team Results:
Pro: 1st. HGR (465 laps), 2nd. LVGP, 3rd. The Bus Drivers, 4th. 2 Guys 1 Kart, 5th. Team O’Gorman
Amatuer: 1st. Shellhammers, 2nd. Mini Midgets, 3rd. EMANON, 4th. Lehigh Valley Grand Pr**s
The Turkey Bowl is a team based event however, the tradition has been that the fastest time of the race receives a Turkey. This year’s victor was Ella Beaky aka Wonder Woman posting a 31.174. A time nobody thought they would see on the new track layout.
The Turkey Bowl started as an opportunity to give back to the community. Teams receive a discount towards the race by donating non perishable and canned good food items. All donations are taken to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Allentown. It feels great that our customers are extremely supportive of the facility and causes.
